Bye bye

Last week was our final week at Human-net..

On Monday we participate morning discuss last time. We also got flowers because Saturday was International  Women's day. Thank you! :)

On Tuesday we had this big presentation day about Finland at Korzo. We had a lot of audience from high school and the presentation went really well! At least everyone said that.. As you can imagine the youngsters were interested in alcohol-part. :D We also shared our experiences about palinka..

Our huge audience! ^^

Now we try to look professionals

Wednesday was a baking day for us! We make some Finnish coffee bread for Friday's pig killing party. We also had time to see Sóstói. We met there Hungarian English teacher and he had a lot of questions for us. We were so stupid to think that we could be in peace there. We gave some bread to fishes and they kept coming more and more.

Picnic food!

Tadaa!

On Thursday we visited at Plaza's Köz-pont office where we met two volunteers who told us about their programme and job in there. In the afternoon we participated in Social resbonsibility course at our school. We made some games and plays there like making "a pizza"!  We also had a fun drawing exercise where we had to change papers and every person had to draw a quater of this person's face which was written on the paper.

Our last day was really fun! We went to this farm where workers killed the pig and we all together made good food of it. We played some badmington and got a horse ride in the moonlight. We even tasted pig's ear and skin! :D Taste was, let's say, interesting.. But now we have unique experiences! :)

Poor pig! :'(

It was a beautiful day!
Happy Juulia
Happy Merja

Food is coming

We had fun!

We want to thank you all You readers and Human-net workers for this time! :)

One more week left!

This week we had quite much free time because Human-net had training courses to their people.

We started Monday morning like usual, morning discuss. After that we had a free day. Merja showed the city to her boyfriend.

Tuesday was a free day and we relaxed. Merja visited Debrecen with her boyfriend. They tried to find some record store but couldn't find any. Any ideas? Juulia chilled that day and did some school work.

On Wednesday we picked three girls at the train station and went for a lunch with them. After that we all went to New generation office to see these presentations about EVS (European volunteer service) and Human-net. After that Juulia went to cafe place to talk with girls and other people who was in audience. Merja had to go to pick up her friend at the train station. The train was late and Merja was a little worried because of her friend. :s

On Wednesday evening we all (Juulia, Merja, her friend and boyfriend) went to the Blues Cafe to chat and play biliard because we needed to show them "our place". :)

On Thursday we went to University of Debrecen faculty of health with Attila because he had social responsibility course starting meeting there. We played this weird cow game and we won it even though we didn't know the rules (Attila was in our team!). :D

Early on Friday Merja left to Budapest to spend the weekend with her visitors. They shopped and had a little party on Friday and on Saturday they climbed to Gellért mountain. It was rough!

On Friday Juulia went to Mustarház to give an interview about Erasmus experience. It was really fun! And evening she went to walk on the forrest with some group. It was spring opening tour or something like that. :D On Saturday Juulia finally went to the zoo! It was really exciting! The weather was perfect for that. :)

Tomorrow starts our last week in Human-net and we have a lot of different kind of program. :)

Cake & beer

Our week started as usual, we had a morning discuss in the main office. After that we went to our school to sign rentpapers but when we got there the teacher said you don't have to sign it now, go home. But when we got home some dudes came to knock our roomdoors and asked us to sign rentpapers. (What did just happened?) Now we are waiting for our bills to arrive. (not jeij!)

On Tuesday we visited Korzó and Family transition home. At Korzó different organisations introduced themselves to young people. We gave flyers to youngsters passing by. In the evening we made handicrafts with children for the carnival. It was so much fun! Even though we couldn't speak with them.It was a really nice surprise that after this they (Human-net workers) gave us some food for free because they didn't need it anymore. :)

On Wednesday we went to the Huszárvar and heard about Human-net work there. Then we walked around this area there and saw how people live there. We also had a starring guest Thad from the U.S. After we left Huszárvar we went for a lunch with him. He drank beer with the lunch and we were "shocked".. At least he didn't looked much drunk. ;D On Wednesday afternoon we organized a Finnish table at the Community House. We printed some pictures, wrote a few words and brought salmiakki for everyone to taste. Most of the tasters didn't like it but there were some exceptions! :)

On Thursday we took a trip the Debrecen to the New generation office. Imre and Attila did some presentations about marketing tools like blogs, LinkedIn etc.. We also got to talk with a couple girls in English and we talked about being abroad. One of them wanted to go abroad some day and we tried to encourage her to go! :) In the evening we went to celebrate Merja's birthday to a pub and took a cake with us. It was a new experience to eat cake and drink beer but it worked.

Imre looked so professional! :)

On Friday Juulia went to the Community House to write a short list of professional words for professional dictionary. After 4pm they organised a hobby club at the main office where Juulia made a carnival-mask. In the evening we went to the Third halftime pub to celebrate carnival with colleagues. I had really good time there! We drank some beer and played tablefootball. :)

Merja's weekend in Budapest was fantastic! Her boyfriend came on Friday to visit her for a week. He brought a lot of presents and flowers too :) We wandered around the city, went to shops, enjoyed the sun and partied with Kenneth friends. On Friday Merja got a surprise birthday cake in a restaurant and it had this huge candle on it while they played happy birthday song. Also Merja's friend came to Budapest on Sunday. We all went for Sunday brunch to Gundel restaurant, it was expensive but the food was delicious. Especially crème brûlée, yummy! It was great to have two important persons here :)

Jeij!

In the beginning of the week we went to New generation contact point to Korzó. There we had a nice conversation with Attila and Gábor. We decided that we will make a presentation about Finland for youngsters March 11th. We also make Finland -poster for Community House and maybe bring some salmiakki for visitors. ;) You can see the poster February 26th at Community House!

On Tuesday Imre told us about meaning of international projects. It is really important to continue this projects because they get a lot of new information and different kind of experiences. We feel like that we are a part of this international work and we are happy for that! :)

Wednesday was a really excited day because at the same time we prepared our Finland poster there was an ice hockey game Finland vs. Russia but thankfully Finnish players were so good that we won 3-1. Jeij! :D

Erzsébet and Attila told us on Thursday about family care services and her groups where she works at. These goups are for the whole family if there are any problems they want to solve, for example if there is an alcohol problem. They can discuss with other people in the group and share their feelings and thoughts. They also do different kind of activities together like watching a movie or cook something.

Friday the presentation day! We told our colleagues about Finnish social security system and everything went great. After that we discussed about Hungarian social system, what is similiar and what is different. The next topic will be Finnish school system and culture.

We are trying to look like professionals

Here is our audience. :)

Our weekend was JEIJ! (It was great) We went to Debrecen for whole weekend to celebrate Merja's birthday a little bit earlier than the exact day. We stayed at Korona panzió and it was good. The only bad thing was the traffic, it was quite noisy. On Saturday it rained the whole day so we couldn't visit so many places. We went to Forum and bought things (like a pretty wallet and cool sunglasses :)). On Sunday we tasted KFC for the first time ever. It wasn't so special we thought it would be but it was tasty. Be prepared to have a lot of paper with you when eating, it was messy. :D

We are not so far from home! :)

We went to see Debrecen's night life both days and we met some weird people there. One guy asked if his girlfriend has a nice ass and we were like excuse me :D On Saturday we got VIP tickets at the same price as normal ones to a club because they heard us speaking English and asked where are we from and after we said Finland we got these tickets. And now we are at home and really tired, especially Juulia because she didn't stop partying even in her dreams. Hopefully the next night for her will be more peaceful. :D

We tasted some palinka

Papparapuppi

Yay, we learned a new word! But we have no idea what does it mean. Attila told us that it sounds like Finnish but can't regognize it. :D

Last weekend was a little different from the others because Merja stayed at Nyíregyháza and Juulia went to Budapest to see her boyfriend(♥). Merja visited at zoo with Ukrainian people and got in for free (don't know how?!). Juulia walked way too much on that weekend. Her calves were sore but it was worth it! She visited Buda Castle, Parlament house and National museum. The trip was really exciting because she has never been in Budapest so there was a lot of things to see.

Back to Nyíregyháza and work. We got a new information about application writing and internation projects. On Wednesday we got to play guitar at Community House, because there was a guitar lesson is that day. And then Merja saw a lot of cats and she went crazy! :) She misses her cats in Finland. Do anybody own a cat here? Just call to Merja and make her happy!

Friday was a really interesting and exciting. On afternoon we visited Mustárház to see new volunteers and the radio station. That place looked really cool! Old cameras and furnitures everywhere. In the evening András took as we don't know where but it was dark and there was a really muddy roads! :s We almost got stucked but András showed his skills and saved us! Yay! :) That was a Metro Programme where we got free food and shared them to the families.

On Saturday we went out with our colleagues and played billiard and drank some beer. And we visited also Attila's birthday party. :) Then we went to X-cafe to see Paddy and the Rats or something like that. They played Irish folk music, it was fun! There was a lot of people and it felt like sauna.

Now the weather looks so pretty that we have to go outside and enjoy the sun! :)
