Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience.

Szia everyone! Another week has passed and there was a lot of new experiences, again. First on monday we had a meeting with colleagues and we were discussing about last week and the new week. We were sharing opinions and experiences about our time there and just talking about everything.

After that we went to Community House and did some paper work and prepared ourselves for the afternoons visitors. There was some volunteer visitors from Mustarhaz and Imre and Attila made some presentation about Human-net Foundation for them.

On Tuesday we went to local newspaper for an interview and they made an article about us to the newspaper. I told them about me, my studies and my experiences here in Hungary. It was my first interview for newspaper ever, haha! :D

On wednesday we were visiting in Hajduböszörmeny. It is some kind of day care center for mentally handicapped people. Their organization is runned by government and there is lot of people in different age. They are very talented for example in music and in handicraft. I didn´t take any pictures there because we would need permission from their guardians even they are 18. I really liked that place and those people there, they were so kind and open for us and they really enjoyed those activities which they did there. Atmosphere was so warm and workers seemed to enjoy their job. Very nice place!

On wednesday evening we were playing football with my friends. It was so nice to play again after few months break!

This picture is not that good but maybe You can imagine how fun it was! :D

On Thursday there was "Among others" - training course again in the University of Debrecen. At the course we were discussing about gay relationships and how people act with gay people and they made some drama about it. We were also making some horoscopes for people and talking about EVS program. Again it was nice and interesting to be part of that group. :)

My second week

Hello and happy Sunday for everyone!

My second week in Human-net foundation was a little bit shorter because I was in Budapest on Monday and Tuesday with my Finnish friends, who came to visit me here in Hungary.

It was so great to see my dear friends again!

On Wednesday there was some presentations for us and we got more information about Human-net Foundation and their projects. It was very interesting and I recognized that there is some similar projects and work "styles" as in Finland, but still there is some differences too. Like those groups where workers prepares ladies for example for job interview and how to dress and act there. It was very interesting and it would be very useful in Finland too!

In the afternoon we went to Huszarvar again and the socialworker showed us places and gave us more information about Huszarvar and people who live there. Like I said, I have been there few times before but there comes always some new information and it´s always a pleasure to visit there.

On Thursday we went to University and there was a training-course which was organized by Human-net Foundation, Imre and Attila. It was fun and it was nice to meet Hungarian people and talk with them for example differences between Finland and Hungary. We were part of the group that day and those methods were very useful and interesting.

                                                   Information about EVS

See You next week, stay tuned!

First week in Human-net Foundation

Hello everybody! My name is Eveliina, I´m 22 years old and I´m Finnish exchange student from Tampere, Finland. I´m studying social services and I´m doing my practice here in Hungary. I have two sisters and one brother and I´m the youngest child of my family. I love sports and I have played football over 10 years. I decided to come to Hungary because I haven´t been here before and I didn´t know much about this country or their culture before. I came here in February and I will leave in the end of May. Human-net Foundation is my 3rd and last practice place.

In my first week we were talking about Human-net Foundation, their projects, history and everything what is happening in there. We took a group picture because of the "wear black" -day. There was so much new and interesting infromation and I´m excited to see everything and get new experiences!

On wednesday we were visiting in Community House, seeing youngsters and programs there and making some plans for future. It was nice and comfortable place and I´m sure that we are going to make a lot of fun and new memories there!

On thursday we went with "food service" to share some food and other services for elderly people in villages. It was very interesting and new for me and I think that we don´t have any similar services in Finland. It was nice to see how thankful those people were and how we made them happy by helping them with food service and in everyday life. It is very important job, not only because of the food, but also because old people can talk with someone and they can share their stories and communicate with people.

We had a little bit freetime to look around in a lake near the village. It was so beautiful and the weather was absolutely perfect. I can really feel that summer is coming!

We also had a quick visit in Huszarvar area. I have been there 3 times before but it´s always a pleasure to visit there. Children are so lovely and full of life, even their situation in life and background aren´t the most ideal ones.

Welcome to this life changing adventure with me and please stay tuned!
